Non-Nano Zinc Oxide
Non-nano zinc oxide creates a physical barrier that provides broad-spectrum UV protection. It also offers anti-inflammatory benefits and has been shown to effectively treat conditions such as eczema.
Grass-fed Beef Tallow
Organic beef tallow is a natural source of skin-loving vitamins A (retinol), D, E, and K. Its well-balanced Omega 3 & 6 fatty acid profile supports skin repair and rejuvenation after sun exposure.
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil moisturizes and strengthens the skin barrier, shielding against UV damage. Its fatty acids also aid in skin healing and rejuvenation, perfect for maintaining healthy skin.
Beeswax

Turmeric

Does it smell like beef?
No. Our organic grass-fed beef tallow is purified to remove 99% of the beefy smell. The coconut oil and beeswax combine to give the SunButter a quite pleasant coconut fragrance.
Does Sunbutter really work?
Yes. We settled on the formula for the Original Sunbutter after countless hours of research. Rest-assured the Sunbutter will deliver.
Is it greasy? Will it clog my pores?
Our Original Sunbutter is noncomedogenic. In english that means, no it will not clog your pores. Just another example of why simple is better.
What SPF is it? Do I need to reapply?
We're not big fans of the SPF grading system (see here) and the FDA pulls some shady moves with its approval process.
We'll say this, treat like you would an SPF 20 sunscreen. Reapply as needed.
Is it water resistant?
Yes, Original Sunbutter is water resistant. Our recipe is crafted so the beeswax provides a natural water resistance.
Is is reef-safe?
Each ingredient in our Original Sunbutter has been carefully selected to be safe for both your skin and then environment. It will not damage any marine life and is considered completely reef-safe.
